Dressing the White Room

Dressing the white room with accessories, artwork, and a great rug are what will truly give the room a finished look. Here's a few pointers and do's in the white room:

  • Earthy, natural elements are a must for the white room. Bringing in potted plants, succulents, an arrangement of flowers (whites and greens are my preference), or trees and bushes help keep the room fresh and full of life.

  • Antique or vintage elements are a must. Stay within blacks, browns and gray-toned vintage or antique items. Simplicity and subtlety is the key.

and farmhouse charming feel.

white matting marches across the walls. This application is the perfect example of how subtle hints of black are fabulous in the white room.

  • *Take note of the mirrors nesting on the side table of this room. What a perfect and original idea without bringing in a lot of color. Keep in mind that mirrors open up a space and give the illusion that the room is larger--perfect trick for the smaller rooms in your house!

  • Casual sisal and handwoven rugs are the perfect rug to add texture, color, and perhaps a bit of geometric pattern to the space. I recommend using rugs for a seating area, especially. A rug is just the ticket for making a furniture grouping feel separation and grounding.
